Larry Vogel Retires from Norris Cylinder

After more than 35 years, Larry Vogel, sales manager at Norris Cylinder, is retiring. Larry has provided exceptional service to Norris and its customers since he joined the Norris team in 1979. He looks forward to spending more time with his family, cheering on the Yankees and playing with his two dogs, one of whom is named Norris.

Veteran Welding Training Program

On August 11, UAW-Ford welcomed vets to its inaugural veteran welding training program, a 6 week course at the UAW-Ford Technical Training Center in Lincoln Park, MI. “There is no greater thing one can do for our country than to fight for our country,” says UAW-Ford Vice President Jimmy Settles. “The job outlook for skilled welders is optimistic. This program enables us to help these individuals and the industry.” The UAW-Ford Veteran Welding Training program is being provided free of charge to veterans who participate in the Wounded Warrior Family Support program nationwide. CWS Completes Third Opening in 2014

Central Welding Supply moved its Pacific Welding Supplies location in Olympia, WA, to 8001 Martin Way E in Olympia. “The new store’s retail showroom is four times the size of the previous one, and the site provides for a much larger yard, wide open parking areas, a convenient cylinder exchange dock, a huge warehouse area, welder demo and repair station, and additional offices and space for expansion and additional future staff,” says CEO Dale Wilton. “With 7,000 sq. ft. of building space, the new site will allow us to continue to expand and grow in the Olympia and greater Thurston County markets.” The new Olympia location is the third in a series of 2014 construction projects for Central Welding Supply, which opened locations in Kelso and Vancouver, WA, earlier this year.

Mark Naglee Hired as Norris Regional Sales Manager

Mark Naglee joined the Norris Cylinder team as eastern regional sales manager. His past experience includes cylinder sales and re-qualification services. He most recently worked in a similar sales position.

Cyl-Tec Adds Staff

Andrew Bennett joined the Cyl-Tec, Inc. team as a sales development specialist. His responsibilities include advancing marketing initiatives and supporting new products while working closely with the customer service team. Bennett has a B.S. in Telecommunications from Ball State University.

Ethane Fueled Carrier for Liquified Gas

A new gas-carrying vessel with a cargo capacity of 36,000 cbm for liquefied gas cargo up to -104°C is the first of its kind and differs from conventional gas carriers. Its superstructures will be located at the bow. Read more about this new vessel here…
