Lincoln Electric Names Next CEO
Cleveland, OH — Lincoln Electric Holdings announced that John M. Stropki Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer since 2004, will become executive chairman of the board, and Christopher L. Mapes will be named president and chief executive officer of the company, both effective December 31, 2012. Stropki will work closely with Mapes to ensure a seamless transition for Lincoln Electric’s shareholders, employees, key customers, industry associations and community and government relationships. Mapes has served as Lincoln Electric’s chief operating officer since September 2011 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since February 2010.

    Keen Completes Third School Makeover
    Wilmington, DE — Keen Compressed Gas Co. completed its third school makeover as part of GAWDA’s Paint a Vo-Tech initiative. Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD, was on the receiving end of Keen’s efforts, including cleaning, painting, curtain replacement, cylinder cage repairs and more. “Our goal is to help the school look better, be more inviting, attract more students, increase enrollment and train better. It has been an extremely successful program so far,” says Will Keen, vice president of sales and marketing.       Huber Supply - Ames, Iowa

      Huber Supply’s new location in Ames, IA, contains 2,000 sq. ft. of showroom and offices along with a 6,000 sq. ft. warehouse.

      Mason City, IA — Huber Supply opened an 8,000 sq. ft. scratch start in Ames, IA, the company’s first new location in 16 years and its third overall. Situated on a main road with roughly 20,000 vehicles passing by every day, Huber Supply expects the store to enjoy strong trade from both outside sales and walk-in traffic. “We are the only welding distributor within a 30 or 40 mile radius,” says Regional Sales Manager Cody Huber. “We expect to flourish with this new market and new customer base.” Corey Smith was named regional sales manager for the location and Nicole Smith takes on the role of store manager.

        Superior Products Adds to Sales and Marketing Team
        Cleveland, OH – Superior Products hired Marc Buenaventura as product marketing manager, bringing four years of experience in industrial marketing. Patrick Pierson comes on as northwest regional manager with four years of experience in gas management equipment sales and account management. Chris Holmes brings a background in account management and sales to his new position as east regional sales manager. Beau Papania joins the company as south regional sales manager. He brings a degree in communications and business from John Carroll University.

          Chart Acquires AirSep Corporation
          Garfield Heights, OH — Chart Industries entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AirSep Corporation, a manufacturer of oxygen generating systems for medical and industrial applications, for $170 million in cash and up to $10 million in assumed debt. AirSep is expected to add approximately $130 million in annual revenues to Chart’s BioMedical segment with improved gross margin as compared to Chart’s average consolidated gross margin, excluding acquisition-related costs. Sam Thomas, chairman, CEO and president of Chart Industries, says, “The acquisition strengthens our BioMedical Group’s oxygen concentrator business and provides a growth platform for on-site air separation gas generation.”

            nexAir Dedicates New Training Center
            Memphis, TN — nexAir opened the Gary “Pops” Enders Technology Training Center, which will be used to host training seminars for employees and customers. The training center was named after Sales Trainer and Senior Sales Representative Gary Enders, who is celebrating his 50th year with the company in August 2012. “Gary is very involved with training our salespeople and working with customers on process improvement and technology enhancement,” says President Bill Proctor. “He’s always been on the forefront when it comes to learning new technologies, be it computers, electronics or welding. I can’t think of anyone better to name our training center after.”
