A near-record 130 distributors and suppliers enjoyed an informative meeting and entertainment at the New York-New Jersey GAWDA Regional Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ. US Navy Captain David Tarantino delivered a compelling presentation, recalling the events of 9/11 from the Pentagon, where he was stationed that day. A highly decorated Navy physician serving as director of clinical services for the US Marine Corps, Captain Tarantino has been honored for his heroic and life-saving efforts on September 11, 2001. He spoke about the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which supports returning service members who have been injured in combat. Regional Meeting Host Lloyd Robinson presented a donation to Captain Tarantino on behalf of the regional attendees.
Computers Unlimited President David Schaer demystified cloud computing for attendees, explaining the benefits of using “data centers” instead of in-house computer servers for software and data storage. Robinson updated the attendees on the latest GAWDA benefits and previewed September’s GAWDA Convention in Colorado Springs.
