Members Only!

GAWDA Members Only WebsiteYou may have noticed some new things on our website, A revamped Members Only section is going live in June. If you have not yet visited, take a few moments and look around. You will be pleased by what you see.

The makeover was designed to make materials easier to find and access. To get onto the Members Only pages, all you have to do is sign in with your email address and password. And if you’ve forgotten your password, fill out the online request and it will be sent to you.

Once you get onto the Members Only landing page, you will see a summary of all the topic pages. Click on a topic and a list of subtopics comes up. Each of these subtopics is a link to a PDF. We chose to use PDFs because they are easy to read, and you simply copy and paste what you want to use.

Here is a rundown of some of the information posted on the Members Only pages:

  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Manual
  • FDA/Medical Gases Reference Materials
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Human Resource Manual
  • Accident and Incident Sharing Reports
  • Best Practices

Best Practices include backing up and parking, cylinder deliveries, load securement, safe cylinder handling, training forms and records, transportation of liquid cylinders in elevators, driver distractions, personal communication devices and more.

Accident and Incident Sharing reports are compiled by the GAWDA Safety Committee. Current reports take a look at securing loads properly, cylinder deliveries at locations with stairs and ramps; safe handling of cylinders; and medical product mix-ups.

There are many, many more resources on the Members Only pages of GAWDA’s website. They are updated regularly with information that will help you run your business safely and compliantly.

Positioning for Peak Performance
The Annual Convention is the prime event of the year for GAWDA members. This year’s convention will be held from September 9–12 in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, a spectacular location in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. With breathtaking scenery, the location at the magnificent Broadmoor Resort will be one long remembered.

Pikes Peak forms a stunning backdrop for our convention location. Pikes Peak is the farthest east of the big peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain, which made it the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush to Colorado with the slogan “Pikes Peak or Bust.” Colorado Springs is also home to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the U.S. Olympic Training Center—three world class organizations focused on developing peak performance. What a fitting location for GAWDA’s Annual Convention, as we come together to create and grow peak performances in our businesses. GAWDA President Bryan Keen and his convention planning committee have put together an amazing conference in a magnificent setting. See page 78 for a preview of this year’s convention and be sure to visit GAWDA’s website for convention updates and registration information.

As we reach high for the peaks, I look forward to seeing you in Colorado Springs.
