AGL Adds to Management Team
Clifton, NJ — AGL Welding Supply named Chris Fenelon as vice president. He will share the responsibility for all operations with Kevin Brancato, vice president – general manager. Bill Brancato was appointed to the newly created position of sales/purchasing manager, where he will be responsible for all inside sales and purchasing. Ivan Guerrero was named inside sales manager for the company’s Clifton, NJ, location. Ken Cherasia takes on the role of service manager and will be responsible for welding machine rentals, repairs and used machine sales, along with overseeing AGL’s fire extinguisher sales and service operation. Eric Johnston was appointed to assistant branch manager for the company’s Newburgh, NY, location. Gilbert Diaz was named credit manager for all AGL locations.

In his new position, Walker will oversee the day-to-day administration of professional services as well as interface with financial management and lead special projects. Walker continues to serve as treasurer of GAWDA, a role he has held since 2007. He was the CFO of ETOX for 5 years, before which Walked honed his expertise in information technology while working as the consulting practice manager for Oracle throughout the southeast United States. He is a CPA and a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler.

Sadler Expands into Florida
Dothan, AL — Sadler Welding Products opened a new branch in Panama City, FL. The company remodeled a centrally located 6,500 sq. ft. building to house a showroom, warehouse and offices for Sadler’s fourth location and its first in Florida. “We received several requests from potential customers in the area asking us to open a store in Panama City,” says President J.D. Sadler. “We’re looking forward to working with end-users in that market.” The new store expands Sadler Welding Products’ geographic footprint, allowing the company to serve customers from the Gulf Coast up to Montgomery, AL.

AWISCO Green Roof

AWISCO’s green roof will be visible from the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, demonstrating the potential for green practices in industrial areas.

AWISCO to Build Green Roof
Maspeth, NY — AWISCO was awarded $206,188 to construct a green roof on the company’s Maspeth, Queens, building as part of the NYC Department of Environmental Protection’s 2011 Green Infrastructure Grant Program. The roof will manage over 390,000 gallons of storm water per year, reducing combined sewer overflows to Newtown Creek. “AWISCO is always eager to partner with local community development groups and governmental agencies to improve the infrastructure and quality of life in our city,” says President Lloyd Robinson. “Our green roof will protect the water in the Newtown Creek, reduce our carbon footprint and improve air quality.”

Airgas Realigns Company Divisions
Radnor, PA — Airgas announced the alignment of its 12 regional companies into 4 new divisions, each led by a division president. The North Division includes the Airgas Great Lakes, Airgas East and Airgas North Central regional companies and will be led by Shaun Powers, former east division president. The South Division, which includes the Airgas South, Airgas National Welders and Airgas Mid America regions, will be led by Mike Rohde, formerly senior vice president, distribution operations. Terry Lodge, former Airgas Mid South president, will assume the leadership post of the Central Division, which includes the Airgas Mid South, Airgas Southwest and Airgas Intermountain regions. The new Airgas West Division, which includes the Airgas West, Airgas Northern California and Nevada and Airgas Nor Pac Regions, will be led by Max Hooper, former president of Airgas West.

Praxair Expands in Gulf Coast
Danbury, CT — In St. Charles, LA, Praxair is installing a new 135 million scfd hydrogen plant that is expected to start up in the Fourth Quarter of 2012. The company is also extending its Louisiana pipeline by 50 miles, connecting the new hydrogen plant in St. Charles to Praxair’s existing complex in Geismar, LA. The pipeline extension is scheduled to be in operation by the Second Quarter of 2012.
